Pollinator Garden on display NOW

Our pollinators are hard at work again this season and a great place to witness this is at the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Come and visit our beautiful Pollinator Garden and Insect Hotel next to Wilna Pond, free of charge. We have several native wildflowers that attract the attention of dozens of different species of bee, butterfly and moth. If you get inspired to attract this kind of biodiversity to your yard, then take a look at http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/natural-heritage/nativeplants for ideas and prices of native wildflower seeds. The best days to observe and photograph this lovely piece of our food-chain are going fast, so don’t forget to get out to your favorite park or refuge this summer and do some ‘nature bathing’!
