Earth Day Festival Update – Heathsville, Sat. Apr. 21

NAPS Earth Day Festival 2018The Northumberland Assn. for Progressive Stewardship (NAPS) will be hosting the 4th. Annual Earth Day Festival in “downtown” Heathsville during the season’s first Farmer’s Market – Saturday, April 21, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with dozens of environmental exhibits and activities set up by NAPS and other organizations. Here are some updates:

NAPS will again have its “Earth Day Pledge Tree” and will be giving away free reusable grocery bags to anyone who promises to do something new to help the environment this year. NAPS will also have a solar energy display with several experts on hand. Also, check out the future of personal transportation at NAPS’ “All-Electric Vehicle” exhibit – a new feature at this year’s festival.

The Earth Day 5K Run will start at 8 a.m., to benefit area schools. Runners, walkers, and dogs (on leashes) are welcome, and there will be a free “Tot Trot” for kids 5 and under at 9:15. Visit runnnk.org to sign up and for more information.
