Westmoreland County Household Hazardous Waste Collection September 28

Westmoreland County’s Household Hazardous Waste Event is this Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 9 am until 2 pm a the AT Johnson Human Services Building parking lot in Montross.  This collaboration between Westmoreland County, Virginia Cooperative Extension and Northern Neck Soil and Water is designed to give county landowners and residents the opportunity to discard old household chemicals that can harm the environment when not disposed of properly.  Please bring:  used motor oil, old gasoline, oil based paint, solvents, cleaners and similar substances, used florescent and CFL bulbs, pesticides and rechargeable batteries.  **Each residence is allowed to drop off up to 100 lbs. for no charge. A per lb. charge of $1.05/lb. will be assessed after the first 100 lbs.  A representative from the Treasurer’s Office will be present to collect fees.**
