This webinar will focus on the James River Watershed. This includes parts of the following localities: Charles City, James City, Isle of Wight, Surry, Suffolk, Prince George, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.
About living shorelines: living shorelines are a nature-based technique for shoreline stabilization. Living shorelines use a combination of natural materials (such as sand and plants) and man-made materials (such as rock and constructed oyster reefs) to create beautiful, strong, and sustainable shorelines.
About the presenters: this webinar is brought to you by the Living Shoreline Collaborative, a group of regional and state partners working together to support living shorelines in the tidal James River watershed. This webinar will feature experts from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, the Shoreline Erosion Advisory Service, the James River Association, the Elizabeth River Project, and the Colonial Soil and Water Conservation District.
