The Westmoreland County Spring 2022 Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 9am-2pm at the A.T. Johnson Building Parking Lot at 18849 Kings Highway in Montross. Social distancing measures will be in place for the safety of everyone. All event workers will wear gloves and masks. The public is asked to remain in their vehicles at all times and to pack items for the collection in an accessible part of the vehicle for easy removal by the event crew. Everyone is asked to please wear a mask should it be necessary to speak to the event crew through their vehicle windows.
Westmoreland County residents and property owners are encouraged to bring old household chemicals such as oil-based paint, cleaners, solvents, old or used petroleum products, pool chemicals, pesticides, spent florescent bulbs, and CFL bulbs to the event. There is no charge for the first 100 lbs. of hazardous waste per household, however, there is a promotional fee for any additional waste at $1.05/lb. and will be collected by the county onsite. The collection is limited to Westmoreland County residents and property owners only.
Please do not bring ammunition, radioactive materials, tires, car batteries, medical waste, prescription drugs, and latex paint.
