The 2024 academic scholarships are now available! Northern Neck SWCD will be awarding two students with a $1,000 scholarships. For consideration, your fully completed application must be received in the NNSWCD office by Friday, March 1, 2024 by 4:00 PM. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
The J.C. Berger Conservation Advancement Scholarship is open to students with permanent residency within Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster, or Westmoreland Counties, who will begin a full-time, first year college curriculum in natural resource conservation and/or environmental studies.
The James Edward Minor Ag Stewardship Award is open to full-time undergraduate college students with permanent residency within Northumberland, Richmond, Lancaster, or Westmoreland Counties. Applicants must be enrolled in a college-level curriculum in natural resource conservation and/or environmental studies.
Virginia Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts Educational Foundation Scholarship – individual must be a Virginia resident and full-time student enrolled in or who have applied to a college freshman level curriculum. Applicants shall document a class ranking in the top 20% of his or her graduating class or a 3.0 or greater Grade Point Average or appropriate equivalent of individual scholastic achievement. Applicants shall demonstrate an active interest in conservation. Applications should be made from the county the student resides or attends school. Eligible applicants must reside or attend school within a local Soil and Water Conservation District.
