The Rappahannock River Valley Wildlife Refuge will be sponsoring a Kids Fishing Day at Wilna Pond (336 Wilna Rd, Warsaw) on June 2nd and the Port Royal Pier (at the end of King Street) on June 9th, 2018 from 9 am-1 pm each day. The events are FREE to the public but due to limited space it is first come-first served. Children will get lessons on fish biology, how to tie knots, basic water safety rules and laws of catch and release as well as prizes for catches and raffle tickets. Families must pre-register by calling 804-761-0464 or emailing freedom_malik@fws.gov and specifying which date they will be attending and how many children they are bringing, space is limited to 30 children ages 4-15 per day.
