The Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District (NNSWCD) has been serving the people of Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland Counties for over 75 years. Our mission is “ To promote the stewardship of natural resources through leadership, education, and technical assistance for all resource users and to engender a trusted relationship between the District and these users.” We work with students, farmers, homeowners and interested citizens to promote conservation by through use of various best management practices proven to positively impact soil and water quality. Once such practice is the planting of cover crops.
