Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week

We would like to invite you to join environmental groups, community organizations, businesses, local leaders and nature enthusiasts from across the Chesapeake Bay watershed as we celebrate Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week over social media.

The Chesapeake Bay Program works with all 6 watershed states and the District of Columbia to advance progress towards shared restoration goals through adaptive management. Every year the Chesapeake Bay Program works with local organizations to coordinate Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week.

This year’s event takes place from June 5-13, 2021. The theme for Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week 2021 is recreation! With park visitation and outdoor activities reaching an all-time high in 2020, we are celebrating all the ways in which people can recreate in and around the Chesapeake Bay.

Participating social media channels can use the following resources to participate:

  • The social media toolkit includes sample posts, social media graphics, and relevant content you can share throughout the event. Each social media graphic is also available in a transparent png format so you can add your own photographs to the graphic if you desire, or you can use the full graphic as provided in the toolkit.
